Farewell from Temple Mount

Sorry there was no blog on Sunday – we had a more gentle day visiting St George’s Cathedral and Christ Church, the two Anglican churches in Jerusalem which serve very different communities.

Here is my final vlog, recorded before we left on Monday:

Our pilgrimage ended yesterday at the south wall of Temple Mount, standing on the steps that led to and from the Temple, which Jesus would have often climbed.

Earlier in the day we visited the amazing archaeological discoveries being made at the City of David is being excavated – including the walls that Nehemiah had repaired, Hezekiah’s water tunnel and the site of the Pool of Siloam, where pilgrims would bathe before entering the Temple, and where Jesus healed the man born blind – John 9.1-12.
